Why Donate?

The Snyder Fire Department is 100% volunteer, protecting approximately 20,000 residents in a six square mile area within the Town of Amherst.  The department responds to around 1000 Emergency Incidents per year.  In addition to Emergency Responses, department members spend countless hours training to improve their firefighting proficiency and enhance their Emergency Medical Skills.  They also participate in community evens, such as block parties, charity races and fundraisers.  The Department sponsors year round Fire Prevention Programs designed to educate children and adults as well.  Our firefighters travel to local schools, churches and meet with scout troops to discuss fire safety and teach CPR and First Aid. Snyder firefighters live throughout the Snyder area and are proud supporters of the Snyder community. 

The Snyder Fire department has a proud history of providing progressive Fire and Emergency Services.  It must be remembered that volunteer firefighters are held to the same standards as any paid department.  Our members are proud to give their time and skills to protect our neighbors. There are no paid positions here. The only funding for the Snyder Fire Department is your donations.
