School Bus Fire
02/19/04: Snyder firefighters arrive to find a school bus with the engine compartment fully involved in flames which where spreading into the passenger compartment of the vehicle.

This fire resulted in $5,000 damage to the bus. There where no students on the bus and the driver exited the vehicle safely.

Apartment Fire
02/25/04: An apartment fire was reported at 3:59 PM at 310 Campus Drive. Snyder firefighters arrived within 4 minutes and confirmed a fire with heavy smoke in an upper apartment. Firefighters advanced hose lines to the fire floor and made quick work extinguishing the flames.

The fire was called under control at 4:22 PM with fire- fighters remaining on the scene until 6:12 PM performing salvage and overhaul operations.

The fire was contained to the kitchen and living room of the apartment with smoke damage throughout the structure. Damage was estimated at $40,000 and the cause was listed as careless use of smoking materials.

Structure Fire
04/05/04: 5228 Main Street (George's Produce Stand). The Snyder Fire Department was alerted to this fire at approximately 10:30 p.m. and arrived on location within minutes to discover the barn fully involved. A propane tank exploded as firefighters arrived, complicating the operation.

A second alarm was struck, bringing help from the Williamsville Fire Department and Main Transit Fire Department while Eggertsville Hose Company stood by at Snyder's station.
