Members pose proudly in front of the firehouse at the annual Snyder Hose Company picnic. Date is believed to be August 9th, 1924. Date was determined based on sign in background. The only Saturday August 9th during the decade of the 1920’s was in 1924. Fire station was built in 1922 and this photo appeared in the Audubon Topics (a community newspaper) in March 1927. This confirms the date of the photographs as August 9th, 1924.This is one of the earliest known photographs of the original fire station. |
