At approximately 4:00 am the homeowner was awakened by a noise to find a wall of flames consuming the rear of the house. Within minutes of dispatch Fire Chief Paul Griebner arrived on location to discover the fire had extended from the rear wooden deck area up the wall and into the attic area. After a partial roof collapse firefighters initiated an exterior attack with heavy water supplied by the aerial truck and various ground lines. While the occupants of the house all safety escaped the structure was a total loss. Damage was estimated at $180,000 to the building and $100,000 to the contents. While still under investigation the origin of the fire was traced to the location of a propane grill on the rear wooden deck.
