Snyder Firefighters responded around 0615hrs, Wednesday morning, March 17, 2021, for a Tractor-Trailer Rollover Accident with Injury. The driver of the tractor-trailer was transported to a local hospital by Twin City Ambulance. Snyder Firefighters spread absorbent to contain some fluids on the pavement. The Scene was turned over to the New York State Police and New York State Thruway Authority for clean-up.

On Saturday April 4, Snyder crews were called at approx 0845 for a bedroom fire with possible entrapped residents. Chief Van Horn arrived on scene and reported “Smoke Showing from a large 2-1/2 story brick house” and requested a 2nd Alarm.

Snyder Firefighters responded to a bedroom fire in a two story house. A quick interior attack along with proper ventilation contained the fire to one bedroom. Chief Mark Van Horn estimated damage at $60,000 to the structure and $100,000 to the contents.

Snyder Fire responded to a fire in a nursing facility on Main Street. Firefighters found a dryer fire that had extended into the parts of the laundry room. Crews were able to keep the fire from spreading, as the sprinkler system held the fire in place.

At 4:08 AM firefighters were dispatched to a report of a bedroom fire in a two story, four unit apartment building. Upon arrival Chief Paul Griebner reported flames showing from a first floor rear window.

Snyder Firefighters were alerted to a basement fire on Bernhardt Drive. First arriving units reported heavy fire and smoke conditions. Automatic aid brought firefighters from the Williamsville Fire Department and a FAST team from the Eggertsville Hose Company.

At 2:30 AM firefighters were alerted to a report of a detached garage fire. Upon arrival the 40' x 30' garage was found to be fully engulfed in flames. The garage was a total loss with damage estimated at $80,000 to the structure and $20,000 to the contents.

At approximately 4:00 am the homeowner was awakened by a noise to find a wall of flames consuming the rear of the house. Within minutes of dispatch Fire Chief Paul Griebner arrived on location to discover the fire had extended from the rear wooden deck area up the wall and into the attic area.
